Ma quando è quasi costretto ad arretrare, Garibaldi escogita un piano ingegnoso. Affida una manovra diversiva al colonnello Orsini, che mette in piedi una colonna di feriti con uno sparuto gruppetto di militi, cui viene affidato il delicatissimo compito di far credere a Jean-Luc Von Mechel, comandante svizzero dell’esercito regio, che il generale stia battendo in ritirata all’interno dell’isola. Inizia così una partita a scacchi giocata sul filo dell’imponderabile, il cui esito finale sarà paradossale e sorprendente. Dopo il successo di La stranezza il regista Roberto Andò torna al cinema con Toni Servillo, Salvo Ficarra e Valentino Picone.
